DREAM KILLERS

          When I grow up I want to be a doctor. When I grow up I want to be a professional basketball player. I want to be a teacher. Sounds good right? As kids, we all dream about what we may become as adults. We develop role models based off of the people in those professions and we strive to be like them. We often emulate their actions to the point where we try to dress like them, carry ourselves like them, and often develop the same interests as them hoping we can become a carbon copy of whom they are. Their words become ours. We become infatuated with them and the dream. Nothing can stop us from chasing that dream. At least that's what we think. Dreams are easy to think about but not as easy to chase. That's why it's a dream.           Enters the negativity. A TIMELESS DREAM

        Martin Luther King Jr. Words can't express the impact he had and continues to have on the world today. Just a few of his quotes show the wisdom and knowledge that was bestowed upon his life. For a black man to have his own holiday should not only inspire us all, but also let us know how much of an honor it was for the world to know how much of an influence he was. 39 years of age at his untimely death and look at what he was able to accomplish. His famous words, "I have a dream", still live on to this very day, and that's what is on my mind today.       Yes, he had a dream. A great one indeed. That dream lives on inside of you and me today.
