A TIMELESS DREAM

Martin Luther King Jr. Words can't express the impact he had and continues to have on the world today. Just a few of his quotes show the wisdom and knowledge that was bestowed upon his life. For a black man to have his own holiday should not only inspire us all, but also let us know how much of an honor it was for the world to know how much of an influence he was. 39 years of age at his untimely death and look at what he was able to accomplish. His famous words, "I have a dream", still live on to this very day, and that's what is on my mind today.

Yes, he had a dream. A great one indeed. That dream lives on inside of you and me today. His legacy. Monumental. But why is ,"I have a dream",into the history books forever? At a time where segregation and racism was at an all time high, he was blessed enough to have a dream about what the future could hold if someone sacrificed enough to fight for it. And the person that was chosen to walk that path was him. And he walked it with pride and dignity and respect. A humble man. Peaceful. He had a dream indeed. As bad as the world seems to us now, as it seems to be shifting back towards the mentality of racism and white supremacy, that's not the mindset of everyone. We have to be mindful not to let one person nor one moment drive us to a lifetime of anger. His dream was meant as a wake up call to the present and future generations to say hey, if we stand together and believe, we can do anything. This "dream" was bigger than eyes could see. It was so far ahead of its time that it seemed unreal. For white and black to come together in those times seemed like a crime. Now here we are. Voting together. Eating together. Playing together. Now don't get me wrong, it's not all perfect. But nothing nor anyone is perfect besides the Father himself so there will be wrongful acts. But as long as you do your part, that's all that matters. How big was this dream? When Martin Luther King Jr. was shot and killed, I'm pretty sure they thought that would also kill off the movement. They were wrong. It became stronger and more unified afterwards. And it still lives on. When a dream becomes bigger than yourself and you start affecting others, that's when it becomes powerful. Never let a dream die with you. if you strongly believe you have something special inside of you, never let that stay just inside of you. Be the change. Make a difference. And maybe we too can like Martin Luther King Jr., timeless.
